Oman: Al-Said family tree and succesion analysis

Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said prolonged illness has raised many questions about who will succeed in Oman.The pool of potential successors is very small, as the sultanate can only pass to a male descendant of Sultan Turki Bin Said who is an “adult Muslim of sound mind and a legitimate son of Omani Muslim parents”, ruling out the numerous Al-Said of mixed parentage. Revised in an November 2014 issue of GSN, this report includes a two and a half page analysis article on succession issues and a half-page Al-Said family tree.
