UAE/Iraqi Kurdistan: Focus on Dana Gas turns to sukuk ruling as dispute settled

The announcement by Dana Gas on 30 August that it had reached a settlement with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) brings a welcome end to a long-running dispute which has seen numerous rulings in favour of the Sharjah-based energy company and its partners. Investor attention will now turn to a court case this month involving a controversial plan by the company to cancel $700m worth of sukuk (Islamic bonds).
