Bank Tejarat follows Mellat in seeking sanctions compensation

Iran’s Bank Tejarat has filed a lawsuit in the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to seek compensation from the European Union for losses sustained while under EU sanctions. The suit was filed on 23 January, although it is not clear at this stage how much damages it is seeking.The EU imposed sanctions against Bank Tejarat in January 2012, alleging that it was involved in helping the Iranian government with its nuclear programme.
