Tabuk governor Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Bin Abdelaziz has been featured widely in the international press following allegations that he and his hunting party killed 2,100 Houbara bustards, a species classified as vulnerable, during a three-week safari in Balochistan in January. Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper published details of a report by a member of the Balochistan forest and wildlife department which said the prince hunted for 21 days, from 11 January to 31 January, and hunted 1,977 birds, while other members of his party hunted an additional 123 birds.
