Qatar: Bin Hammam banned from football for life

The career in football of Qatar’s Mohammed Bin Hammam, long suspected of corruption, appears to be over. On 17 December, football’s world governing body, Fifa, said Bin Hammam, a Fifa executive committee member and president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), had “resigned from all his positions in football with immediate effect and will never be active in organised football again”.
