Saudi Arabia: Abdelaziz Bin Fahd at sports events and business deals

Issue 1121 - 04 Mar 2021

Prince Abdelaziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdelaziz has been sighted at sporting events and in business dealings, having emerged from being included among those arrested in November 2017. During the period of the Ritz-Carlton crackdown he was subject even to rumours that he had been killed resisting arrest; for some time his fate was not clear. He had become very rich during his late father King Fahd Bin Abdelaziz’s reign, but lost his official positions under King Abdullah. Abdelaziz was a state minister from May 1998 until April 2014; he was dropped as head of the Court for Cabinet Affairs in June 2011 (a position that no longer exists).
