Saudi national removed from UN sanctions list

A suspected associate of Osama Bin Laden, Saudi national Yasin Abdullah Ezzedine Qadi, has been removed from the UN sanctions list after more than a decade. The UN Security Council Sanctions Committee said on 5 October it had removed the 56-year-old Egyptian-born man from the list of individuals associated with Al-Qaeda, and rescinded his asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo, after a report from the Ombudsman.
