UAE: Threats to base in Somaliland

Disquiet in Somaliland about deals struck to develop Berbera port and a nearby military airbase could yet cause trouble for the UAE. Dubai-based DP World signed a 40-year deal to develop and manage the port last September; a joint session of the Somaliland parliament approved the establishment of a UAE military base in February in contentious circumstances.
