$1.6bn for northern emirates

The UAE will invest $1.6bn to improve infrastructure in the less developed northern emirates, state media said on 2 March. President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan decided to expand water and electricity networks after seeing living conditions on a tour of the UAE.
