Former US ambassador pleads guilty to illegal lobbying on behalf of Qatar

Former United States ambassador to the UAE and Pakistan Richard Olson pleaded guilty on 3 June to lobbying Washington illegally on behalf of Qatar in 2017. He is due to be sentenced on 13 September.
