The reinstatement of Shaikh Sultan bin Muhammad al Qasimi to the rulership of the emirate of Sharjah, within days of his deposition by his elder brother, Shaikh Abdelziz, may give some heart to the handful of convinced federalists in the United Arab Emirates.
