UAE changes its weekend and much else

The UAE government announced on 7 December that it will adopt a four-and-a-half day working week for all federal government bodies, starting on 1 January, 2022. The new official working hours will run from 7:30am to 3:30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 7:30am to 12:00pm on Fridays. Government staff will be allowed to work from home on Fridays and arrange their work on a flexi-time basis.
