Chief of staff for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran

As chief of staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces, Bagheri is Iran’s highest-ranking military officer, responsible for co-ordinating and supervising the Islamic Republic of Iran Army (Artesh), Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) and Law Enforcement Force (Faraja). His family’s military history and his personal record of competence propelled Bagheri through the ranks of the armed forces and his position as chief of staff has fortified the IRGC’s position in Iran’s national command structure.
