The death of Princess Dalal Bint Saud Bin Abdelaziz was announced in a tweet by the King Saud Foundation on 10 September and confirmed in a brief statement by the Royal Court the following day. She reportedly died from cancer. In February, Princess Dalal had tweeted that she was undergoing an operation to remove a tumour.

Kuwaiti ex-PM guilty in Army Fund case

Former prime minister Jaber Al-Mubarak was found guilty on 5 October by the Court of Ministers of complicity in the Army Fund fraud case. A sentence is due to be announced in November, but Al-Mubarak is expected to appeal against the verdict in the Court of Ministers’ first major trial.

Dubai-based logistics giant DP World has created an investment joint venture with UK development finance institution CDC Group. DP World will contribute its stakes in the ports of Dakar in Senegal, Sokhna in Egypt and Berbera in the unrecognised Republic of Somaliland to the venture and says it expects to invest a further $1bn through the platform in the coming years.
