The first two NH90 NFH helicopters designed for naval operations have been delivered to the Qatar Emiri Air Force. Qatar has 12 of the aircraft on order, as part of a wider €3bn ($3.7bn) contract to buy 28 helicopters which was announced in March 2018 at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition (Dimdex).

Yemen’s ceasefire extended

United Nations envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg told the UN Security Council on 14 June there had been no confirmed airstrikes inside Yemen, or cross-border attacks from Yemen, since the first country-wide ceasefire in six years, announced on 2 April. A 60-day extension to the truce was announced by Grundberg on 2 June.
