Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Maktoum was named supreme chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment on 5 November, via a decree issued by his father, Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.

KIO allegations: Finance minister Fahd Al-Jarallah has referred the Kuwait Investment Authority’s London outpost, the Kuwait Investment Office (KIO), to the public prosecutor over a series of alleged offences including the illegal disclosure of confidential information between 2018-22. Turnout reached 44% in the UAE's fifth Federal National Council election,  according to official figures. This was the second highest turnout on record; it peaked at 74% in the first election in 2006. Just three members retained their seats from the outgoing chamber.

The UAE set up a field hospital in Herat, western Afghanistan to help locals injured during a wave of severe earthquakes that killed more than 1,000 people. The UAE has also sent at least five aircraft with a total of 140 tonnes of aid, including food and tents.
