Saudi King Salman Bin Abdelaziz travelled from Jeddah to the new northwestern city of Neom on 1 September. He chaired a cabinet meeting in the city on 5 September. The ruler spent an extended period in Neom in 2020 and 2021.

Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah travelled to Italy early September on what officials described as a "private visit". The ruler was in Italy in March and June this year seeking medical treatment.
