Qatar: $1bn US anti-drone missile deal

The United States has approved a request from Doha to buy a $1bn anti-drone system. The approval, announced on 29 November by the US State Department, covers ten anti-drone systems from defence companies Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, including 200 Coyote Block 2 interceptors, launch systems, radars, and other related equipment.

US approves glide bomb sale to Oman

The United States has approved a $385m sale of joint stand-off weapons to Oman. The package of 48 glide bombs for the Royal Air Force of Oman is being supplied by Raytheon Missiles and Defense Company.

A Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) F-15S fighter jet crashed during a routine training mission in the King Abdelaziz Air Base training area in the Eastern Province. Ministry of Defence spokesman Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki said there had been a "technical malfunction".

The UAE appears to be trialling the Israeli Barak-8 air defence system, with satellite imagery from an air defence site at Al-Muqatra south of Abu Dhabi suggesting a Hawk air defence battery previously at the site has been replaced by two launchers and a radar from the Israeli system, as first noted on Twitter by Ben Reuter.
