Oman: New plan introduced, but budget relies on tenuous assumptions

Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Al-Said issued two royal decrees on 1 January, approving the tenth five-year development plan, (2021-25) and ratifying the 2021 budget. The Ministry of Economy is due to publish details of the new plan, which Sultan Haitham told a 15 December Council of Ministers meeting was a cornerstone of achieving economic and social stability. He also approved the official launch of Oman Future Vision 2040 from the start of this year.
