Qatari business practices under the spotlight amid probe into sacked finance minister

Issue 1126 - 20 May 2021

This issue leads with the news of finance minister ali al-emadi's arrest on allegations of abusing public funds which is all the more surprising given Qatar’s tendency to resolve sensitive disputes in private.

There is also a feature on the Kuwaiti government failing to win over members of parliament and the public on a variety of political and social issues as emir Sheikh nawaf finds it hard to impose any authority on events.

There is also a map of Qatar with important energy industry locations and 2020 FIFA World Cup venues.
