Issue 484 - 19 Apr 1994
Kuwait has embarked on a major public relations come propaganda exercise to counter the barrage of negative publicity to which it has been subjected since liberation. The Kuwait Information Centre (KIC) in London is the flagship of the drive to polish the country's tarnished image. Similar information offices have been opened in other Western and Middle Eastern capitals and Kuwaiti ministers and officials are responding to allegations of human rights abuses and corruption with a frankness and decisiveness seldom seen in the Middle East.
