Ambassadors back in Doha

The UAE and Bahrain have now returned their diplomats to Doha, as agreed in a mid-November deal to end their spat with Qatar. On 7 December, Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, received the credentials of the UAE’s ambassador, Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Ameri, who was previously a chargé-d’affaires in Qatar (2001-2004). Bahrain’s ambassador, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, was also in Qatar by late November; since joining the foreign ministry in 1975, he has served in a number of posts across the Arab world.
