Baghdad seeks port assessment

In its first official comments on the Bubiyan island port dispute, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has demanded that its neighbour halt construction of its new megaport until the impact on Iraqi waterways can be ascertained. Iraq is sending a commission “formed from experts and specialists in all fields and from different ministries” to Kuwait to assess the project, foreign minister Hoshiar Zebari told Al-Sumaria TV.
