Bahrain: Khalid Bin Hamad calls son Abdullah

Issue 987 - 19 Feb 2015 | 1 minute read

Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the fifth son of King Hamad, and Sahab Bint Abdullah Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saud, the daughter of the late Saudi king, announced the birth of a son on 8 February. He was named Abdullah after his late grandfather. Sheikh Khalid and Sahab married in June 2011, a highly unusual alliance between the two royal families that was seen as a sign of Abdullah’s desire for the two countries to remain closely linked. The marriage has already produced another son, Faisal, who was born in December 2012.
