Changes at Qatar Foundation, but Mozah still in charge

On 23 September, the Qatar Foundation (QF) announced it had appointed a new president and a new chief executive for its investment arm, a significant management shake-up but one which still leaves questions about what lies in store for the organisation under Qatar’s new emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. Set up in 1995 immediately after the coup which brought his father Sheikh Hamad and his right-hand man Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim to power, the foundation was one of the key instruments (along with Al Jazeera) of Qatar’s repositioning itself as a major political and economic player.
