Critics hone in on Saudi summit tactics

Saudi Arabia has come in for concerted criticism at the COP26 summit in Glasgow, from both pressure groups and senior international political figures. On 7 November, Greenpeace complained that Saudi Arabia had tried to block negotiations over a possible summary statement for the summit, known as a ‘cover decision’, and had stymied efforts to help vulnerable populations around the world cope with the impact of climate change.
