Emir Sheikh Tamim departed Doha on 14 September for his first trip abroad since the crisis between his country and the GCC-3 began in early June. He was received at the presidential palace in Ankara by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, before travelling to Germany for talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel. While in Berlin the emir was reported to say that Qatar is ready to sit at the negotiating table to try to end the dispute.
