Emir Tamim: Liberian accords, German visit

Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani held official talks with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on 21 May at the emiri diwan. The leaders witnessed the signing of a number of agreements: on economic, trading and technical co-operation; encouragement and protection of mutual investments; air transport; regulating the use of Liberian workers in Qatar; and air service. Emir Tamim hosted a luncheon in Sirleaf’s honour, and she was accorded a red carpet reception. On 27 May – a few days before Qatar helped secure the release of US Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl from Taliban custody
