Fahd Bin Mahmoud: Europe meeting

Deputy prime minister for the council of ministers Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al-Said, on 17 May received former French minister Michele Alliot-Marie, now a senior European Parliament member, who was leading a delegation to Oman. They discussed Oman-European Union relations (with a new bilateral deal under negotiation). Alliot-Marie held the defence (2002-07), interior (2007-09), justice (2009-10) and foreign affairs (2010-11) portfolios under Nicolas Sarkozy before resigning for her casual dismissal of the uprising in Tunisia.
