GCC leaders network in NYC

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York always offers a good opportunity for leaders of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) states to network, and 2014 was no different. While there were a number of group meetings to tackle regional issues – including the fourth ministerial meeting of the GCC-US Strategic Co-operation Forum (which last met in September 2013) – there were also a great number of bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the assembly, the most noteworthy of which was that between Saudi foreign minister Saud Al-Faisal and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif (see page 5).
