Haitham allows Zanzibar’s former sultan Jamshid to return to Oman

The last Sultan of Zanzibar, Sayyid Jamshid Bin Abdullah Al-Said, returned to the land of his forefathers on 14 September after 56 years of exile in the UK. Jamshid was deposed in a coup in 1964, shortly before Tanganyika merged with Zanzibar to form Tanzania. No government announcement was made in Oman about his arrival in Muscat.
