Iran: Academic sentenced to five years in jail

French-Iranian academic Fariba Adelkhah was sentenced in mid-May to five years in jail by an Iranian court, after being convicted of endangering national security and propaganda against the state. France’s foreign affairs ministerYves Le Drian condemned the decision, saying it was “based on no serious information or established fact and is therefore political in nature.”
