Norway has committed a $1bn credit line to support “partnerships in the marine, fisheries [and the] oil and gas sectors”, Tehran-based Mehr news agency reported after Norwegian foreign minister Børge Brende met economy minister Ali Tayebnia during the early October IMF/World Bank annual meetings in Washington. Brende was quoted as saying that $400m of the total would be used to export advanced technologies to Iran, and that Norway’s biggest bank DNB would be involved.
