The US announced on 14 August it had seized four oil tankers – the Bella, Bering, Pandi and Luna – which it said were sailing to Venezuela loaded with 1.1m barrels (bbls) of Iranian gasoline. That cargo is now in US custody, based on an order granted by the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
