Kuwait: MPs divided after minister survives no confidence motion

Social affairs and labour minister Hind Al-Sabeeh comfortably survived a no-confidence motion on 31 January, with 29 members of the National Assembly voting in her favour, 13 against and three abstaining. Five lawmakers did not cast a vote.Those not voting included Waleed Al-Tabtabaei and Jamaan Al-Harbash, who are both in jail for their part in the storming of parliament in November 2011. Both had requested they be allowed to attend Al-Sabeeh’s recent grilling.
