Kuwait’s new cabinet was sworn in before Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on 12 December, more than six weeks after the previous executive’s resignation on 30 October. Again led by prime minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the incoming administration otherwise represents a significant shake-up: the nine new ministers include two women and six members of the ruling family. The emir’s eldest son, Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah Al-Sabah, has been given his first cabinet post.
