Citizens in Musandam on 22 October organised processions in the governorate’s Khasab and Bukha wilayats to “express their gratitude and renew their pledge of allegiance to His Majesty the Sultan”, according to local news reports. The processions were in response to a royal decree that upgraded the Musandam governor’s status to minister of state level. Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed Al-Said in mid-October issued ten decrees, one creating the Office of Minister of State and Governor of Musandam.
