Oman: Muscat warns foreign landowners

The Ministry of Housing on 26 January warned non-Omani landowners that time is running out for them to dispose of properties they own in designated areas, as first set out in a late 2018 decree. In effect, Salalah and Muscat – where The Wave is probably Oman’s most successful real estate development, backed by Emirati-owned Al-Futtaim Group – will be the only areas where citizens of other Gulf Co-operation Council states will be allowed to own property in the future.
