Oman: Shihab Bin Tariq attends GCC summit

Sultan Qaboos Bin Said’s cousin Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimur Al-Said represented the sultan at a Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) summit in Riyadh on 5 May. Sultan Qaboos has been back in Oman for more than a month, after returning from a long period of medical care in Germany; while he chaired a cabinet meeting in early April, Shihab – one of the contenders to succeed him – has been receiving visiting dignitaries on his behalf.
