Oman: Sultan Qaboos’s health appears to rally

Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said arrived back in Muscat on 13 December, following medical treatment at the University Hospital in Leuven, Belgium. This was a far quicker return to Oman than expected, given that the Fourth Hotel where the sultan and his entourage was staying in Leuven had been block-booked to the end of January. The speedy return prompted speculation among some observers and social media users that the sultan’s condition might now be deemed incurable.
