Issue 249 - 07 Mar 2013 | 1 minute read

Oman’s Supreme Court has overruled an Appeals Court verdict against eight activists sentenced in 2012 to a year in prison and a fine for their part in protests in Muscat. The Supreme Court’s 4 March decision means the Appeals Court will reopen their cases. The Gulf News named the eight as Saeed Al-Hashmi, Mukhtar Al-Hinai, Nasser Al-Ghilani, Badar Al-Jabri, Mohammed Al-Jamoudi, Abdullah Al-Ghilani, Basma Al-Kiyumi and Baasma Rajhi.
