Qatar: Emir Tamim’s Erdogan Meeting, beach resort visit

Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani hosted a key ally, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the Pearl Palace on 2 July, to discuss bilateral relations and other regional issues. Ankara’s rapid support was a critical element in Qatar’s ability to withstand the GCC-3 boycott launched in June 2017; Doha has since returned the favour with economic assistance. On 2 July, Tamim toured the recently completed Salwa Beach Resort.
