Qatar: Establishment figures prevail in first Shura Council election

Voting in the first election for the Shura Council went smoothly on 2 October, with turnout of 63.5%, according to the Ministry of Interior. A total of 233 candidates stood for the 30 seats, including 26 women (of whom none were elected).
