The character of the Turkish-Qatari military relationship was on display on 2 March when the Turkish contingent based in Qatar kicked off joint exercise Al-Udeid 2021, which is scheduled to last until 31 March. Qatari Armed Forces chief of staff Lieutenant General Ghanem Bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem attended the initial briefing for the exercise.
