Saudi deputy foreign minister Prince Abdelaziz Bin Abdullah was in Brazil in late October for meetings with senior officials, including vice-president Michel Temer. Temer reportedly said his country understood the kingdom’s reasons for not accepting the UN Security Council seat. Prince Abdelaziz was in Brazil to oversee the sixth session of the ‘Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdelaziz International Award for Translation’ – an international literary award overseen by the King Abdelaziz Public Library, of which Abdelaziz is a board member. The prince was appointed to his current position in July 2011 (GSN 906/6).
