The Saudi-UAE Coordination Council held its first meeting in Abu Dhabi on 19 January, under the co-chairmanship of Saudi economy and planning minister Mohammed Bin Maziad Al-Tuwaijri and UAE cabinet and future affairs minister Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Gergawi. It followed a meeting of the council’s executive committee in September. The two sides agreed to press ahead with plans to ease customs controls and cross-border travel more generally.
