UAE: Control over information tightens in government overhaul

While the UAE made headlines with a global media onslaught celebrating its mission to Mars, federal Vice President, prime minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum (MBR) pushed ahead with a plan first suggested in May to overhaul the UAE government’s structure following consultations with the main power centre of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
