At the final evidence session of the UK Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) enquiry into relations with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the undersecretary of state for international security strategy was asked about the enquiry’s impact. “I don’t think I can say that it has helped relations,” Andrew Murrison said. “There is always sensitivity… to enquiries of this nature. It takes some effort on our part to assure them there is no ill intent”.
