Issue 964 - 20 Feb 2014 | 3 minute read

Following rumblings about possible sanctions against those trying to obstruct Yemen’s transition, tensions have again flared between President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the General People’s Congress (GPC) – the party Hadi belongs to, but which is headed by his predecessor Ali Abdullah Saleh.United Nations special envoy Jamal Benomar presented a report to the UN Security Council (UNSC) on 28 January, which warned once again of systematic attempts to sabotage Yemen’s transition.
